Should I choose PET, tissue, foam or transfer tape?+
PET provides a thin, dimensionally stable carrier; tissue improves conformability and economical laminating; foam fills gaps and absorbs movement; transfer tape leaves only adhesive after the liner is removed. The correct choice depends on the surfaces, load, bond-line thickness and application method.
What substrate information is needed to select the adhesive?+
Identify both bonding surfaces, including coatings, texture and whether plastics are low-surface-energy materials such as PP or PE. Also provide cleaning constraints, application temperature, service temperature, load direction and exposure to moisture, UV or chemicals.
Can custom double-sided tape be supplied as die-cut parts?+
Yes. It can be supplied as strips, rings, frames, tabs, sheets or kiss-cut parts. For automated placement, liner stiffness, release force, pitch, roll direction, waste removal and part orientation should be defined with the equipment requirements.
What should be tested before approving a custom construction?+
Test the proposed tape on the actual substrates and surface finish. The validation should reflect application pressure, dwell time, temperature, static or dynamic load, aging conditions and the intended assembly process rather than initial tack alone.
